Trained as a painter and teacher at the Bath Academy of Art. In 1975 she moved into designing and making tapestries for specific sites. Wool is her medium and she has studied in depth its transformation into hand-spun yarn which she dyes in the studio. Her designs bring texture, warmth and colour into a space.

Her designs, though usually abstract, often come from the Landscape, and her relief tapestries from the marble and Limestone quarries of Italy and France

Travelling extensively in India has extended her range of colour and use of symbolism in design. India has also introduced her to the indigo ikat process which she has concentrated on during the 1990's in partnership with her observation of the movement of water
She uses photography as a design tool and resource to record transitory images, colour and experience
